Variable speed drive

Goulds Pumps, an ITT Industries Company, has introduced an addition to its PumpSmart Control Solutions product line. The new Model PS 200 is a microprocessor based, variable speed drive programmed specifically for centrifugal pumps up to 700 hp. Control of virtually any process parameter is obtained by the continuous monitoring and reaction to both pump conditions and system demands. Pump output is matched to the exact flow and head required by the process. Energy savings in the 30-70% range are obtained because at lower demands; the drive reduces the motor speed eliminating the extra energy that's used to overcome the pressure drop of control valves.

Dry prime pumps

The Godwin Dri-Prime - an automatic self-priming centrifugal pumpset available in sizes from 2 in. to 16 in. - has been used in emergency and planned municipal applications including sewer bypass, domestic water boosting, storm water dewatering, and standby back up pumping for pump stations. With maximum flows to 6,000 gpm, heads to 500 ft. and solids handling to 3.75 in. in diameter, the pumps are capable of handling sewage, storm water and other pumping needs.

Aluminum enclosures

The Aluminum Hot Box® is available in a variety of shapes and sizes with an unlimited array of custom CAD designed project specific configurations available. The enclosures are constructed of 18 gauge, mill-finished aluminum in multiple sections. Sections fit together with overlapping "tongue and groove" joints, which are secured internally with mechanical fasteners. Insulation is spray-applied polyisocyanurate foam (structural unicellular insulation) - 11/2 in. thick to provide a minimum R value of 8. The enclosures feature strategically placed access panels that provide access for operations, maintenance, and testing of enclosed equipment.

Zero flush pump

Patterson's Forceline® NCS Series non-clog sewage pumps are now offered with a sealing arrangement which requires no flush water. The new technology features EnviroSeal's SpiralTrac® throat bushing and Chesterton's Model 442™ split mechanical seals. The pumps provide substantial savings in areas of maintenance and seal flush water. In addition, maintenance can now be performed to the seal and stuffing box without taking the pump out of service.

Data transfer unit

The new Leveloader from Solinst downloads data from any Levelogger for transport then transfer to a PC. The 41/8 in. x 23/8 in. hand-held device makes data collection easier. There is no need for hand-held PCs or PDAs. An LCD display allows viewing of the latest readings. The instrument holds 170,000 samples from up to 50 Leveloggers.

Portable pumps
