Fail-safe shut-down
TGO Technologies offers an Automatic Fail-Safe Shut-Down Valve System. The valve assembly attaches directly onto the chlorine valve of a 150# cylinder or ton container using only a standard chlorine wrench. A true fail-safe valve; it always fails to a closed position, doesn’t rely upon electrical or back-up power, and complies with the new Uniform Fire Code and International Fire Code standards.

Cylinder closing system
Eclipse Actuators close toxic gas valves on 150 lb. and ton cylinders in less than one second when activated by remote sensors. These electronic actuators are “close only devices” requiring an operator to visit the site to determine the cause of the problem. The operator can then correct the condition, check the facility, and then manually reset the valve before restarting the gas system. The battery-operated actuator allows an operator or remote gas sensor to shut off leaking toxic gas without requiring the operator to enter the hazardous atmosphere. The chlorine valve can be opened or closed manually with the actuator installed and ready to operate. The actuators can be installed on existing, standard ton or cylinder hardware and can be tested by the operator on-site to assure correct operation. The latest Fire Codes recognize and approve the “automatic-closing fail-safe shutoff valve” system in lieu of scrubber treatment systems.

Drum pumps
Seepex has introduced a new MDF progressive cavity Drum Pump, designed to empty open and closed drums, totes and tanks. The portable drum pumps are available with titanium internals, PTFE housing, and explosion proof motors. They are also available with an integrated drive that eliminates the need for control panels. The positive pressure on the suction side simplifies transfer of a wide range of fluids including corrosive and abrasive compounds of varying viscosities and solids content. The pumping elements are introduced directly into the fluid to lift it without the need to pull prime, making it an excellent choice for liquids with high vapor pressures like NaOCl. No additional air or hydraulic supply is required. Without sliding plungers, there is no friction buildup that can cause an unsafe temperature increase in the liquid.

Chemical feed station
New additions to the Assmann Chemical Feed Station family with overflow basins include the 175, 200 and 250 gallon capacity feed stations. The compact feed stations store small amounts of liquids and other chemicals, without the handling and disposal costs of steel drums. Constructed from high density crosslink or corrosion-resistant FDA compliant linear polyethylene, the feed stations are lightweight, strong and easy to handle. Available in capacities from 40 to 550 gallons, the feed stations feature easy-to-read volume markers and a pump shelf that supports most pumps and metering devices. Optional fiberglass shelves are available for pump and metering devices totaling 25 pounds or more. Polyethylene stands which may be stacked two high are optional. Other options include fittings in different sizes and materials to meet specific requirements and a wide range of color choices.
