Peracetic acid gas detection

Peracetic acid (PAA) gas detection is now available from Analytical Technology Inc. Both portable and fixed detectors can provide rapid and reliable detection of hazardous levels of PAA vapor in the workplace. The new PAA sensor provides sensitivity to 0.05 ppm while measuring selectively without interference from hydrogen peroxide, a component of PAA solutions. Sensors are compatible with ATI’s PortaSens II portable leak detector as well as the series F12 fixed gas detector.

Chemical dosing calculator

Advisor™Ci software from Avista® Technologies calculates temperature correction factors and saturation potential of a feedwater based on the free concentration of ions, or complex ion formation, overcoming a critical weakness in contemporary indices that consider the total analytical value, which typically includes ions that are bonded. Water treatment system designers, OEMs, and end users can forecast precise chemical dosing and use rates for all of their membrane system chemical needs that achieve maximum recovery from even the most stressed applications.

Solution for damaged curb boxes

Argonics’ Speedy Sleeve polyurethane sleeve is specifically designed to repair damaged curb boxes. Engineered for ease of installation, access and maintenance, the sleeves are 6 to 18 inches in length with two small fins. The top opening is sealed with a screw-on cap. To install, cut off the top of the old pipe and then slip on the sleeve. To get a snug fit at an appropriate level - above or below ground - dig out around the pipe and then tap down with a hammer. The fins stabilize the device in the soil so that it won’t twist or move due to frost heaving.

Data management

Innovyze has released version 4.5 of SCADAWatch, a network data management and business analytics and optimization solution for water distribution systems. The software turns traditional offline analyses into real-time, actionable intelligence. SCADAWatch allows users to proactively view, share and analyze water operational information, key performance indicator (KPI) measures, and hydraulic and water quality data in motion on a real-time business dashboard. It automatically generates comprehensive, high-fidelity performance reports to help utilities develop the optimal course of action based on specific performance objectives.V4.5’s open API also allows third-party field applications to seamlessly communicate with SCADAWatch.

Metals removal

Triple Clear Water Solutions’ Seromix™ advanced metals removal technology for municipal water supplies addresses contaminated water streams containing 27 of the most common and harmful metallic elements, reducing their presence to nearly undetectable table levels. The technology uses a standard oxidizer and a patented static mixing process to quickly coagulate and bind contaminants into large particulates, which can be filtered out easily. The method of removal is a simple oxidation-reduction (redox) process wherein hazardous, and potentially hazardous, contaminants are chemically converted into non-hazardous, more stable, and in some cases, inert compounds. Seromix technology also installs quickly and easily, and scales to any size.

Multiple screw pumps

NETZSCH Pumps North America’s new NOTOS™ line of multiple screw pumps is designed for demanding pumping. The pumps are hydraulically balanced, delivering efficient pumping with very low axial force. The two-screw pump operates with a drive screw intermeshing with a driven screw transferring torque from one to the other, while the three-screw pump operates with a drive screw intermeshing with two driven screws that transfer torque from one to the other. In both, the screws are surrounded by a ferrous pump housing, and together, the screw geometry and housing form the pumping chamber. Rotation, screw diameter, and screw pitch define the pump’s flow rate.
