Fluid Metering has introduced the Chloritro™ valveless metering system for injection of sodium and calcium hypochlorite for purification of municipal drinking water.

Hypochlorite injection system

Fluid Metering has introduced the Chloritrol™ valveless metering system for injection of sodium and calcium hypochlorite for purification of municipal drinking water. The system uses a unique valveless duplex pump design. The first pump head is high pressure and injects the sodium hypochlorite directly into the water main. The second pump head functions to remove out-gas bubbles from the inlet side of the high-pressure pump head.

RTU interface

Telog Instruments now provides a MODBUS communications interface for its Ru-33 and RS-33u Recording Telemetry Units (RTU). The new interface makes it possible for the Ru-33 to communicate with a wide range of flow meters, pump station monitors, PLCs and other devices that provide MODBUS protocol interface. Telog RTUs can now "speak" with virtually any metering and control device used in a water distribution or wastewater installation, recording the data collected by these instruments and transferring it directly to the municipality's operations center.

Circuit breakers

Three 4-channel Electronic Circuit Breakers have joined WAGO Corporatio's 787 Series Power Supply System. The DIN-rail mount 787-860, 787-861 and 787-862 Electronic Circuit Breakers each separately protect up to four current paths (up to 10A at 24 vDC max each), while offering independent programming of appropriate channel- or circuit-specific ratings and trip times via free 759-860 Configuration software. In the event of a fault or short circuit, the circuit breakers can shut down the tripped channel within 100ms. Rather than halting the entire system, power is maintained to other loads (e.g., to a PLC on one path and HMI on another). This prevents a system-wide shut down, as well as possible data loss. Afterward, the tripped load may be remotely reset via a control input.

I&I software

MWH Soft has announced the newest release of its RDII Analyst (Rainfall-Derived Inflow and Infiltration) for InfoSWMM and H2OMAP SWMM with expanded functionality. The new version incorporates many advanced features. It also openly invites the users to further adjust the dry weather flow (DWF) and RTK parameters to achieve a better fit – and ultimately a better model – based on their experiences. Enhancements include tabular comparisons between the observed and calibrated RDII data for each event, including R value, peak flow, hydrograph volume and depth.

Electronic locks

The Videx CyberLock electronic access control system has been incorporated into two new padlocks: the Hockey Puck and the Bar Bell. The electronic Hockey Puck Padlock has a stainless steel body that completely surrounds a stainless steel shackle when closed. Its buried shackle prevents attacks from bolt-cutters. The electronic Bar Bell Padlock has a stainless steel core and locking post. It is environmentally sealed with "O" rings to prevent water and dirt from reaching the inner core of the lock. The unique design of these intelligent padlocks allows them to perform in wet, corrosive environments.
