Stormwater filtration

BaySaver Technologies has launched its new BayFilter stormwater filtration system. The multi-layered underground sand filtration system removes very fine sediment and nutrient pollutants from stormwater runoff at a flow rate of 30 gpm per cartridge. As stormwater makes its way through 43 square feet of surface area per cartridge, the filter removes more than 80% TSS (d50=23.2 microns) and greater than 50% of total phosphorous including dissolved phosphorus. It also boasts a 50% reduction of turbidity. The filter’s hydrodynamic backwash, self-cleansing component dislodges pollutants and restores the porosity of the media after every storm, contributing to efficient operation, extended maintenance intervals, and a long product lifespan.

The Satellite gas detector (Model HVS400), available from Halogen Valve, monitors and reports a variety of hazardous and toxic gases to a SCADA system or other electronic monitoring equipment. Its features include an LCD status indicator, one-person calibration, magnetic tamper-free switching, and a 4-20 mA analog gas level outputs. The system can be connected through a SCADA system or other electronic system to the company’s Emergency Gas Shutoff systems to immediately remedy a gas leak situation. The microprocessor-based electronics detect most toxic gases in parts per million (ppm). The gases detected include: Ammonia, Carbon Monoxide, Chlorine, Chlorine Dioxide, Ozone and Sulfur Dioxide.
