HENNEF/BRUSSELS, GERMANY, Nov. 19, 2013 -- The European Water Association (EWA) recently honored Professor Karl-Heinz Rosenwinkel of the Technical University of Hanover with the William Dunbar Medal for his advanced treatment of industrial and municipal wastewater.
Sponsored by Messe München GmbH (Germany), the medal was presented to Rosenwinkel at the ninth EWA Brussels Conference during the official Dunbar Ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 13. Held in cooperation with the DG Environment of the European Commission, the conference strives to establish a dialogue between the European Commission and European water professionals and stakeholders.
Rosenwinkel, born in 1950, has been a professor and head of the Institute for Sanitary Environmental Engineering and Waste Management at Hanover since 1995. He has also directed and coordinated several national and international research projects.
"This outstanding award of the water sector is strongly supported by the MMG. It provides fundaments for new innovation that can be presented at the professionals during our world's biggest environmental trade fair, IFAT," mentioned MMG Managing Director Eugen Egetenmeier during the Brussels event.
