Matrix drive
The Drives & Motion Division of Yaskawa America has released the Z1000U HVAC Matrix Drive, which provides extremely low harmonic distortion in a space-saving design, along with the same HVAC-specific features as the standard Z1000. This single component solution achieves excellent low distortion levels without the need for additional countermeasures. Yaskawa's matrix technology employs a system of nine bidirectional switches arranged in a matrix to convert a three-phase AC input voltage into a three-phase AC output voltage.
KROHNE has announced its new SpectroBAY® process near-infrared spectrometer system for efficient process control in the chemical industry. Improving chemical plant reliability and profitability through automated control, SpectroBAY is ideal for a range of applications, including fluids, gases and suspensions in conjunction with optical sensors. The system is ideal for chemical processing plants with several educts and raw materials that react with a catalyst in a solvent.
Engineers responsible for maintaining boiler operations will find that the new Model DO90 Trace DO2 Sensor from Electro-Chemical Devices is designed for the continuous and highly accurate measurement of trace levels of dissolved oxygen, helping to maintain oxygen-free boiler feedwater and reducing corrosion. The DO90 is a lead-silver galvanic sensor with a durable PFA Teflon® membrane. As a digital sensor, all of the signal conditioning, calibration and diagnostic functions are performed inside of it.
Magnetrol has released Thermatel® TA2 thermal dispersion mass flow meter with FOUNDATION fieldbus™ digital output communications. Advantages include dual gas calibration with two unique curves (propane and natural gas); field adjustability to install in different gas types or adjust for different gas mixes; a calibration verification procedure that provides cost savings due to decreased process downtime and unnecessary recalibrations; internal resettable and non-resettable totalizers; and a strong signal at low flows and low pressures with high turndown.
ANDalyze has signed VWR as an authorized distributor for its product line to distribute the ANDalyze DNAzyme-based, heavy-metal testing products through VWR sales channels. The product is a system of handheld fluorimeter and consumable sensors that test for heavy-metal concentrations in water. It is ideal for on-site and in-process testing of water sources and tests for lead, copper, uranium, mercury, zinc, and cadmium. A variety of new sensors are planned for the product platform in 2015.
Sodimate's slurry metering system that is skid-mounted and pre-piped comes equipped with pumps and all metering accessories needed for easy installation and reliable operation. The system is most commonly used for hydrated lime, activated carbon and soda ash slurries with concentrations ranging from 2% to 30%. Standard skids come equipped with peristaltic pumps, a mounting panel (with solenoid valves, flowmeters, isolation valves and rinse valves) and all connections needed for slurry metering and transfer.
Hobas pipe is suitable for virtually every installation method of new construction and rehab. The centrifugally cast, fiberglass-reinforced, polymer mortar pipe is inherently corrosion resistant and lasts 100 years or more. Leak-free, push-together joints reduce installation time and costs. It is widely used in corrosive environments such as industrial effluents, contaminated drainage and foul air as well as cooling and circulating water lines. It is also approved for potable water.
Director™ II Tank Baffles from Environetics are designed for tank-based waste treatment operations. Director II is custom manufactured from heavy-duty reinforced geomembrane materials to improve flow patterns in new or existing circular or rectangular tanks. It is a cost-effective upgrade for activated sludge systems to provide dramatic savings in energy costs by reducing power requirements. The baffles are dependable and designed for low maintenance.
