PORT WASHINGTON, WI, JANUARY 27, 2017 -- To meet the growing need for water and wastewater treatment solutions worldwide, Aquarius Technologies Inc. has been purchased by Aquarius Technologies, LLC, a newly formed company launched by its President and CEO, Deborah LaVelle.
The new company will focus on the growth and development of its highly efficient MultiStage Fixed Biofilm treatment system, as well as continuing sales of its U.S. manufactured diffused aeration systems. It plans to expand its presence into industrial wastewater treatment solutions and expand its sales internationally through cooperative partnerships.
"Worldwide, many existing wastewater treatment plants need to replace aging infrastructure. As they do so, many will employ biological treatment to reach stringent permit requirements of today's environmental regulations," LaVelle explains. "In addition, growing demand for industrial water pre-treatment, decentralized treatment facilities and water re-use due to water scarcity are driving the need for biological wastewater treatment and more efficient aeration systems. Another target market for the MultiStage Fixed Biofilm and Diffused Aeration Systems is the reduction of sludge and lifecycle costs of sludge-handling facilities," she adds.
Aquarius Technologies Inc. was founded and funded in 2006 by LCapital Partners, an Israeli venture capital firm. During the last decade, the full potential of the products and services of the company were not realized or effectively promoted. LaVelle joined the company in 2015 as its president and CEO. She formed Aquarius Technologies, LLC and purchased Aquarius Technologies to focus around a systems approach to biological wastewater treatment, utilizing its proven MultiStage Fixed Biofilm technology and the best Diffused Aeration Systems available in the industry today.
"Our MultiStage Fixed Biofilm and Diffused Aeration Systems enable us to provide a complete solution that can help municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants reduce sludge, save energy and reduce operating costs," LaVelle adds.
During her 35-year career in the water and wastewater treatment industry, LaVelle has honed a business philosophy that includes a commitment to the preservation of water and delivering exceptional customer service. Shehas served the industry through several professional affiliations including the Water and Wastewater Equipment Manufacturers Association, Water Environment Federation and Winnebago County (WI) Health Department. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Business Administration with a Major in Leadership from Judson University in Elgin, IL.
