• Second phase of ERP project completed
DANVILLE, VA and TORONTO, Ontario, Canada, April 11, 2008 -- The City of Danville (the City) has completed the successful implementation of its new customer information and billing system, CIS Infinity by Advanced Utility Systems Corporation (Advanced), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Harris Computer Systems. In addition to installing CIS Infinity, Advanced, acting as Prime Vendor coordinated the installation of a new central cashiering application offered by Professional Consultancy International, LLC (PCI).
With these two new systems in place, the second phase of the City's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Software project is complete. The City is now able to deliver customer information and billing services to its 45,000 water, electric and gas customers.
To facilitate these services the City was able to take advantage of the flexibility and interoperability that CIS Infinity provides. As Atsushi Yasuda, Director of Operations at Advanced notes, "The Advanced development strategy has always been directed towards integration and flexibility. We are very pleased that the City of Danville is able to realize the potential and benefits of this strategy."
CIS Infinity includes a complex rate engine that uses extensive normalization of the rate structure that will allow for virtually unlimited rate configuration for each of the City's services.
CIS Infinity also facilitates fast, inexpensive integration with an extensive variety of applications including the City's financial information system Sun-Gard Bi-Tech IFAS and PCI's Revenue Collections / Cashiering Systems (RCS), Revenue Billing System and Accounts Receivable suite of products. The high level of integration between CIS Infinity and PCI's application will allow the City to automate several previously manual processes.
Another process that will be automated is the City's Fuel Assistance program. It is designed to aid households that meet a certain income and resource criteria with their heating needs during the winter months.
The City is the second client located in the state of Virginia for Advanced.
Harris Computer Systems is a leading provider of financial management and Customer Information Systems (CIS) software solutions.
