QUEBEC CITY, CANADA, Jan. 14, 2014 -- H2O Innovation Inc. (TSXV: HEO) recently announced that it was awarded new contracts totalling CAD $6.5 million (US $8.8 million) in Western Canada's energy sector.

Two of these contracts, awarded by an independent energy company engaged in the exploration, development and production of North American natural gas and oil, will help the company build and commission a potable water and wastewater treatment package for a 2,300-person workers camp in Northern Alberta.

The potable water treatment plant, which includes raw-water pumping, cartridge filtration, ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis (RO), and chlorination in an aboveground, bolted-steel, potable water storage tank, will produce 575 m3/day of fully-treated potable water. To accompany the package, H2O will supply a membrane bioreactor (MBR) wastewater treatment plant with a capacity of 517.5 m3/day, consisting of raw-wastewater pumping, anoxic and aerobic tanks, membrane tanks, disinfection by ultraviolet light, and discharge to an engineered disposal field.

Further, H2O Innovation was also awarded a third contract by an international company operating in Alberta specializing in in-situ oil sands production. It will see H2O Innovation design, build and commission a membrane-based water treatment package located within the company's central processing facility (CPF) to treat well water for domestic use in its administration and maintenance buildings, laboratories and garage wash bay, as well as supply safety showers and eyewash stations.

These new contracts bring H2O's order backlog for water treatment projects to CAD $17.9 million (US $24.4 million) as of January 13, 2014.
