Headworks sells advanced marine wastewater treatment technology to Evac

Headworks International has announced the sale of its Cleansea advanced wastewater treatment technology to Evac Oy for the marine business.


HOUSTON, TEXAS, May 28, 2014 -- Headworks International, Inc., a global provider of wastewater treatment processes and equipment, has announced the sale of its Cleansea® advanced wastewater treatment technology to Evac Oy for the marine business.

The transaction will allow Headworks to concentrate on its core municipal and industrial wastewater treatment markets. Further, by signing the business sale and license agreements with Headworks, Evac expands in the global marine advanced wastewater treatment business market.

Headworks' CleanSea technology is designed to treat a variety of marine wastewater streams, including grey water from accommodation, galley, decanter reject water, and laundry sources, as well as black water. Likewise, CleanSea delivers environmental capabilities designed to address the tough requirements necessitated for reliable, long-term shipboard operation. The system aims to achieve low lifecycle costs and deliver effluent quality that meets stringent marine discharge standards.

According to industry estimates, the advanced wastewater treatment market will continue to grow in coming years. The purchase of Headworks' Cleansea technology will elevate Evac to be an even larger player in the cruise ship segment, now with the largest reference ships in the world from the Headworks Marine Division acquisition.
