EDGEWOOD, Ky. and TORONTO, Canada, July 6, 2004 -- Northern Kentucky Water District has completed an accelerated implementation of CIS Infinity, the customer information and billing solution offered by Advanced Utility Systems Corporation.

With the end of their application service provider (ASP) contract approaching quickly, the District worked with Advanced on a fast, flexible implementation of an enterprise application with the functional depth required to serve the District's customer base of just under 80,000.

According to Mark Lofland, the District's Vice President of Account Services and Billing, "Our ASP contract was coming to an end, and our customers needed a seamless upgrade. We had more confidence in the Advanced strategy than any other vendor's -- their implementation and conversion process were designed to flex for a unique situation like ours."

Lofland continues, "Early in our search for a new CIS solution, we arranged site visits and checked references. Other utilities confirmed that our confidence in Advanced was well-founded."

Patricia Sorbara, President and CEO of Advanced, describes the District's unique situation in more detail: "Implementing an enterprise CIS solution in under five months required an agile implementation, as well as a plan for a strong post-live relationship. Advanced will work closely with the District to find efficiencies and further refine their service offering. With this plan in place, the tight timeline wasn't really an obstacle."

The District is looking forward to realizing the benefits of full ownership of their solution, implementing CIS Infinity with a SQL Server 2000 database. Advanced has an extensive track record of converting from virtually any legacy system to CIS Infinity.

Advanced Utility Systems Corporation is a privately-owned and operated software and services company in Toronto, Canada. The company has grown from its 1997 start-up to serve over 55 North American water, electric, and natural gas utility clients with its billing and customer information software, CIS Infinity. The team at Advanced delivers the expertise and experience to develop the ideal solution for the utility market.
