ChevronTexaco Global Lubricants launches "reliability solutions" at Lubrication Excellence show

April 2, 2004
ChevronTexaco Global Lubricants has launched a new service-based offering designed to enhance fluid system reliability in industrial operations.

NASHVILLE, Tenn., April 2, 2004 -- ChevronTexaco Global Lubricants (CTGL), a provider of industrial lubricants and solutions, launched a new service-based offering, designed to enhance fluid system reliability in industrial operations, at the NORIA Lubrication Excellence Conference and Exhibition in Nashville, Tennessee.

The new offering, Reliability Solutions, is a comprehensive set of lubricant related products and services that can help companies maximize their investment in equipment and lubrication, resulting in greater reliability, uptime, performance and profit. Reliability Solutions is available to companies that use Chevron and Texaco lubricants, as well as other brands.

CTGL's Reliability Solutions is comprised of multiple offerings including fluid conditioning, filtration systems, storage containers, desiccant breathers, consulting services and online oil analysis.

The components can be leveraged as a whole, or individually, allowing companies to tailor a solution to their specific needs.

"Even though money spent on lubricants is a small portion of most industrial facilities' operational budgets, the impact of a poorly maintained lubrication program can be financially devastating," said Eric Bevevino, Business Manager, Industrial and Reliability Solutions, ChevronTexaco Global Lubricants.

"It's estimated that downtime related to preventable lubricant related failures costs as much as $4 billion each year in North America alone. Reliability is the key to plant operations, and we believe that our Reliability Solutions will allow industrial facilities to achieve the greatest return on their equipment and lubricant investment, resulting in maximized uptime and higher profits."

Reliability Solutions is an evolution of CTGL's Integrated Solutions program.

Integrated Solutions was launched in 2000 and introduced many of the solution concepts to CTGL customers. Reliability Solutions delivers a more comprehensive set of products and services, improving on existing offerings while introducing many new components, ultimately bringing the customer the most advanced and flexible set of tools for managing lubricant related aspects of his business.

CTGL's Reliability Solutions incorporates a number of components that improve the operational efficiency of an industrial facility in a number of markets, such as Power Generation, Food & Beverage Manufacturing, Transportation Manufacturing, Machinery Manufacturing, Paper & Forest, and Primary Metals Manufacturing. Some of the Reliability Solutions programs include:

CTeLab™ Online Oil Analysis CTeLab includes all the features of the original CTGL oil analysis programs as well as additional tools and functionality for managing oil analysis online.

Companies can now use the web to manage equipment from multiple locations, register equipment online, graph equipment condition and generate detailed management reports. With its combination of online equipment and account management, email or wireless equipment alerts, support, ordering and reporting, CTeLab can help set the standard for oil analysis flexibility and functionality.

The new system also allows customers the flexibility to use CTGL's oil analysis labs or independent oil analysis providers. Information from virtually any analysis lab can be uploaded into the system and managed via the web.

Reducing System Contamination

Reliability Solutions offers a number of options to help control fluid contamination, resulting in reduced wear, improved system performance and decreased downtime. ISOCLEAN™ Fluid Conditioning Services work to remove damaging particulates from system fluids allowing the oil to perform at its intended level. ISOCLEAN™ Storage Containers are designed to provide the highest level of fluid contaminate protection, minimize fluid spills and improve system and facility cleanliness.

ISOCLEAN™ Solutions Desiccant Breathers reduce airborne particulate and water contamination, which are leading causes of lubricant related equipment failure.

Training CTGL

Field Training Specialists can teach lubrication fundamentals and advanced lubrication concepts to customers. Training can lead to certification by the Society of Tribologists and Lubrication Engineers as a Certified Lubrication Specialist (CLS). Additional certifications are added every year and can help further differentiate the skills and leadership of a company's maintenance staff.

Some aspects of ChevronTexaco Global Lubricants' Reliability Solutions are currently available and additional solutions will come online in Q2 of 2004. For more information on Reliability Solutions, please contact your local CTGL representative or send an e-mail to [email protected].
