DENVER — The ENR Southwest 2014 Best Projects Award recognizes the top projects in the states of New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada.

DENVER — Engineering News-Record (ENR) selected Pima County Regional Wastewater Reclamation Department’s (RWRD) Aqua Nueva Water Reclamation Facility (ANWRF) as the recipient of the “ENR Southwest 2014 Best Projects Award,” according to a press release.

The ENR Southwest 2014 Best Projects Award recognizes the top projects in the states of New Mexico, Arizona and Nevada, stated the release.

The release reported that the ANWRF, part of Pima County’s largest capital improvements program, is one of the world’s most advanced water reclamation facilities, producing high quality effluent, keeping the Santa Cruz River clean and protecting Pima County’s reclaimed water system.

The project has also recently won the American Council of Engineering Companies of Arizona’s (ACEC AZ) Engineering Excellence Grand Award, which qualified the project for the ACEC’s national excellence awards and the 2014 Clifford Sawyer Achievement Award, continued the release.

CH2M HILL, responsible for the project’s delivery and construction, will operate and maintain the plant for approximately 15+ years, noted the release.

“Agua Nueva has been recognized with numerous industry awards in 2014, and we are honored to add the ENR and ACEC regional awards to that list of distinctions,” said Greg Fischer, CH2M HILL vice president and Design-Build Global Service Delivery leader. “The ANWRF project is a prime example of how we worked collaboratively with Pima County RWRD to incorporate best practices and processes, successfully implementing this project.”
