Endress+Hauser expands in Belgium
After expanding production and building a new plant in the U.S., plus opening new sales offices in Malaysia, France and Chile, the Endress+Hauser Group now has a dedicated facility in Brussels. Endress+Hauser invested approximately 6.6 million euros in the new building in Belgium’s capital. The four-story 3,600-square-meter building features an experience-oriented exhibition zone, state-of-the-art conference rooms and offices, as well as workshops including a calibration lab and a warehouse. Geothermal systems and 175 solar panels provide a high degree of energy self-sufficiency. Endress+Hauser instruments monitor energy flows in the building and ensure efficient use. Endress+Hauser’s new Brussels offices has about 80 employees supporting customers in Belgium and Luxembourg and serving the chemical, food and beverage, life sciences and water and wastewater industries. The 10,000-square-meter site offers room for future expansion.
Dow releases new water treatment design software
Dow Water & Process Solutions, a global business unit of DowDuPont Specialty Products Division, introduced WAVE (Water Application Value Engine) design software, which integrates three of the industry’s key technologies for water purification – ultrafiltration (UF), reverse osmosis (RO) and ion exchange (IX) – into one comprehensive tool, providing accurate water quality and system design models for water and wastewater treatment systems. Treating water often requires using a combination of multiple technologies to achieve the desired water quality for a specific application. The software provides new opportunities for engineers to design differentiated and optimized solutions fast and accurately using the best technology at any single place in the water treatment chain.
Veolia receives new contract
Veolia Water Technologies China Industrial announced that a new contract has been signed to provide China-based Nutricia Pharmaceutical Co. Ltd. (Danone Nutricia) with a turnkey solution for water purification. The main component of Veolia’s turnkey solution will be a 15 ton/hr reverse osmosis (RO) system, combined with a multimedia filter, softener, activated carbon filter, and continuous electrodeionization (CEDI) technologies. Veolia’s technologies will allow Danone Nutricia to expand its purified water capacity by up to 88 percent and save more than 85,000 cubic meters of water each year. The strategic partnership covers all aspects of the water cycle, waste management, sustainable agriculture and energy efficiency. The project is expected to be complete by January 2018.
