SAN FRANCISCO — HETCH HETCHY’S Water System Improvement Program (WSIP) is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, according to a press release.

As the largest infrastructure project ever undertaken by the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, and one of the largest in the nation, the WSIP includes 83 projects to upgrade, repair and replace aging water infrastructure, stated the release.

Currently at 80 percent complete, the WSIP has repaired or replaced more than 280 miles of pipeline and employed 11,000 workers since 2007, noted the release.
