Whole Water Conference will be hosted in Monterey

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. — The California-Nevada section of AWWA will host the conference June 24-26.

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. — The American Water Works Association (AWWA) California-Nevada section will be hosting the Whole Water Conference (W2C), June 24th through June 26th, at the Portola Hotel in Monterey, Calif., according to a press release.

W2C is a new project being presented in partnership with California American Water Company, the release reported.

Topics presented at the conference will include issues and solutions regarding the environment, the severe drought, water resources, urban water management laws, long term funding, dam removal and ecosystem restoration, noted the release.

The three year project of the largest dam removal in California’s history, the Antiquated San Clemente Dam, continued the release, will be further discussed and an educational technical tour is available to conference attendees.

According to the release, many significant speakers will educate the conference audience on the importance of preserving our environment and critical water resources, including Dr. Glen M. MacDonald, director of the UCLA Institute of the Environment and Sustainability, who will deliver the opening keynote speech.
