WASHINGTON — The report “Global Shale Gas Development: Water Availability & Business Risks” released by World Resources Institute (WRI) revealed that water availability could limit shale gas development on six continents, according to a press release.

The report also evaluated water availability for shale resources in eight countries: Algeria, Canada, Poland, Mexico, Australia, South Africa, United States and Saudi Arabia, stated the release.

WRI will host a presentation in Washington D.C. with a live webinar from 4 to 6 p.m. EST, on Thursday, Sept. 11, reported the release.

In a new WRI blog post, “A Take of 3 Countries: Water Risks to Global Shale Development,” China, Argentina and the United Kingdom are used to tell the story on water availability restraints to shale development, noted the release.
