Commercializing membrane distillation the next step for memsys

SINGAPORE — The company has formed a business development unit with three new hires.

SINGAPORE — Germany- and Singapore-based memsys® has announced the formation of a business development unit, according to a press release.

The company, a developer of a thermal separation process based on membrane distillation, formed the unit with three new hires: Hendrik Müller-Holst, Edmund Wong and Wilson Tan, the release reported.

"We are pleased to welcome Hendrik, Edmund and Wilson to the memsys team," said Götz Lange, memsys' CEO. "Each brings outstanding experience, leadership and a proven record of success that will help us reach new customers and partners as we continue to grow."

According to the release, the new unit represents a move toward commercializing the membrane distillation technology.

Memsys and GE recently released successful results of a field test of a new vapor compressor-driven membrane distillation (MD) system used to concentrate produced water from hydraulic fracturing, the release noted.
