EnviroGear® Pumps, part of PSG®, a Dover company, is extending its line of E Series internal gear pumps with the availability of 4” (100 mm) and 6” (150 mm) sizes offering flows up to 500 gpm (1,893 L/min). Suitable for the most challenging and demanding transfer applications, these new E Series pumps are available in cast iron, carbon steel and stainless steel materials. The pumps feature a revolutionary seal-less design with a patented between-the-bearing support system that effectively eliminates leaks and reduces mechanical wear, helping increase the safety of site personnel and the environment.

The Pro2Go™ portable pH meter provides rapid measurement, one-handed operation and great durability. For increased operating confidence, it also informs the operator when the attached sensor will need to be calibrated or replaced. The rugged, water-resistant meter is compatible with both analog and METTLER TOLEDO’s digital Intelligent Sensor Management (ISM™) pH/redox probes. ISM’s features include Plug-and-Measure operation for error-free setup.

Corrosion-resistant dosing valve
GF Piping Systems’ corrosion-resistant pneumatic diaphragm valve provides a new, long-lasting solution for not only highly corrosive dosing applications but also open/close applications. The Type 604/605 Pneumatically Actuated Dosing Valve is designed and tested to surpass two million life cycles. The 1/2” (d20) size 604/605 Valve is available in body materials PVC, CPVC, PROGEF Standard PP, and SYGEF Standard PVDF with a wide variety of end connections and custom assemblies. The valve is pressure rated at 90 psi unidirectional with operating temperatures ranging from -4°F to +284°F, depending on body material.

Saudi Aramco-approved fluorometer
Following detailed scientific and technical evaluation by the Environmental Protection Department of Saudi Arabia’s state-owned oil company Saudi Aramco, the Turner Designs’ Ballast-Check™ 2 Handheld PAM Fluorometer (USA) is approved as a valid Ballast Water Sampling Instrument. Saudi Aramco announced in August that all ships calling at its ports and terminals are required to provide ballast water test results to show compliance with the IMO BWM 2004 convention. Ballast-Check 2 is a small, lightweight, highly durable handheld fluorometer ideal for quick indicative compliance checks of ballast water. Factory set, Ballast-Check 2 is ready for use right out of the box, no calibration necessary.

Flow verification system
The MICRO-FLO Flow Verification System is designed to be used with your metering pump to provide accurate flow measurement and accumulated flow data. Empty chemical tanks, clogged injection fittings, lost prime, and other problems can prevent a properly working pump from injecting chemical. MICRO-FLO can be connected directly to Blue-White A-100NV and C-1100V metering pumps. It may be installed directly into the pumps discharge tubing, inline in the system after the pump, or mounted to a panel.

Broad spectrum biocide
Preventol DP 1021 from Lanxess is a broad-spectrum biocide developed for use in industrial water systems to control and prevent biofilm formation. In addition to microbial control, this new blend helps to reduce the buildup of organic load on the surface of the water treatment systems, thereby minimizing the formation of biofilms. Preventol DP 1021 is effective against aerobic and anaerobic bacteria, including sulfate-reducing and acid-producing bacteria. It performs at low dosage levels (<100 ppm), is non-corrosive for common materials and chemistries used in water treatment, and is a non-sensitizing biocide.

Remote position indication for manual valves
The Rotork SPI Smart Position Indicator provides a more reliable and accurate open/close position indication solution for multi-turn valves than previously available equipment. Limit switches or sensors for remote indication are located and terminated internally so no external junction box is required to connect to a Distributed Control System. Position is mechanically displayed locally via a large display dial. The maintenance-free unit is housed in a robust anodized aluminum enclosure that is environmentally sealed to IP 67. It is available in variants designed for service in either hazardous or non-hazardous areas.

Texas Instruments’ new MSP430FR6047 MCU family lets developers add more intelligence to flow meters by taking advantage of a complete waveform capture feature and analog-to-digital converter (ADC)-based signal processing. This technique enables more accurate measurement than competitive devices, with precision of 25 picoseconds or better, even at flow rates less than 1 liter per hour. In addition, the integrated devices reduce water meter system component count by 50% and power consumption by 25%, enabling a meter to operate without having to charge the battery for 10+ years.

Uninterruptible power for critical applications
Falcon Electric, a leading manufacturer of online Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPSs) and backup power for critical applications, has added a lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4) battery option to its Industrial UPS family. The online rackmount UPS models (1.5 to 6 kVA) provide a longer service life, longer backup times, lower weight and higher safety than UPSs with lead-acid batteries or other LiFePO4 batteries. In addition, the SSG UPS lowers total cost of ownership (TCO) by dramatically reducing costly battery replacements and downtime. Current SSG UPS customers can easily replace their lead-acid battery with the new LiFePO4 battery.

The OR-TEC Blue Whale Micro Bar Screen effectively screens to 2.0 mm to remove approximately three times the volume of rags, wipes, hair and other stringy material in wastewater, thereby eliminating downstream matting. It is self-cleaning, requires zero wash water or brushes and is guaranteed not to blind. The Micro Bar Screen uses a parallel array of wedge-sectioned bars (not wedge-wire) with even spaces to form the screen face. Wedge-sectioned screen bars have only two contact points on which material can block, as the path from the screen face to the back of the screen is gradually enlarged.

CS Unitec has introduced a series of hydraulic chain saws designed with a chain brake to stop chain movement during kickback or repositioning of the saw during cutting. Suitable for use in underwater applications, this saw is ATEX classified II2GcIIBT5. Features include a powerful 10 HP motor with a no-load speed of 5,000 RPM to cut wood, plastic, ductile iron, cast iron and concrete with applicable bar and chain. The new 3M™ DBI-SALA® Comfort Grip Connector from 3M™ Fall Protection improves connecting and disconnecting while providing flexibility to anchor efficiently and comfortably in multiple orientations. Designed and certified to arrest a fall when loaded in multiple orientations, the Comfort Grip Connector features 5,000-pound tensile strength as well as up to 3,600 pounds in transverse and gate strengths. When connected to a vertical or transverse application, such as a pipe, the hand-guard pin shears in the event of a fall to allow the connector to align with the direction of the fall and remain securely anchored.

KROHNE’s new product families for liquid and solids level measurement include both 24 gigahertz (GHz) and 80 GHz versions, which further increase the accuracy and range of measurement on the devices. Antennas for each model are designed to meet application-specific installations. Also available is a retrofit path for those with older style models who want to keep their existing antennas and upgrade electronics without losing the hermetic seal on the tank.
