INDIANAPOLIS — On Thursday, May 15 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the 2014 Top Notch Standards of Excellence Awards honored Bowen Engineering Corporation with its premier award — the Labor Management Foundation Award, according to a press release.

The award was given to the team working on the Citizen’s Energy Group White River Creek Consolidation Sewer Shaft project, which connects existing sewer infrastructure with the Deep Rock Tunnel project being drilled 200 ft. below Indianapolis, reported the release.

“The Labor Management Foundation Award is the keystone of the Top Notch Standards of Excellence Awards because at Top Notch our focus is on labor management on the jobsite,” explained Michelle Boyd, executive director at Top Notch Indiana. “This award is given to the partnership of labor and management that is most effective in helping to move their sector of the industry forward.”

Top Notch of Indiana developed the Top Notch Standards of Excellence Awards program to recognize achievements in Indiana’s union construction industry and bring together labor, management, ownership and leadership segments of the industry, noted the release, and this prestigious award honors the most significant achievements of the year in the union construction industry.

According to the release, the Citizen’s Energy Group White River Creek Consolidation Sewer Shaft project is set to reach completion early this summer despite a winter that yielded Indiana’s heaviest snowfall on record.
