AWWA board names new president-elect

SANTA FE, N.M. — The American Water Works Association’s (AWWA) board of directors elected a new president-elect and selected four new vice presidents and one director-at-large.

SANTA FE, N.M. — The American Water Works Association (AWWA) announced its board of directors elected Jeanne Bennett-Bailey of Fairfax, Virginia, as the next president-elect, according to a press release.

Bennett-Bailey, an AWWA member since 1990, is the public affairs officer for Virginia’s largest water utility, Fairfax Water, stated the release.

She received AWWA’s Volunteer of the Year Award in 2014 and is currently chair of the AWWA Public Affairs Council, continued the release.

At the conclusion of AWWA’s Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE15) in June, held in Anaheim, California, Bennett-Bailey will begin her role as president-elect, and will then serve a one-year presidential term starting in June 2016, reported the release.

The board of directors also chose four new vice presidents and one director-at-large, noted the release.
