ALTRA Proven Water Technologies, LOGISTEC Environmental’s innovative arm, recently received an award given to companies with innovative and profitable solutions to protect the environment.
ALTRA provides environmental and water technology solutions. The group has rehabilitated over 2,100 kilometers of water mains with its trenchless solution, and has saved over 41.2 million liters of fuel, 447 kilotons of greenhouse gas emissions and 1,250 tons of atmospheric pollution compared to traditional open-cut water main replacement.
The award comes from the Solar Impulse Foundation, which aims to select 1,000 solutions that protect the environment in a profitable way and award them with the Solar Impulse Efficient Solution Label. According to the foundation, this label seeks to bridge the gap between ecology and economy, bringing together protection of the environment and financial viability to show that these solutions are not expensive fixes to problems, but rather opportunities for clean economic growth. By selecting 1,000 efficient solutions, the Solar Impulse Foundation seeks to demonstrate that solutions exist, and they can create jobs and generate profit while also reducing polluting emissions and preserving natural resources.
