Siemens technology will provide disinfection and onsite service to resort pools, fountains and theme parks in Lake Buena Vista, Fla.
WARRENDALE, PA, March 2, 2010 -- Siemens Water Technologies has signed a 10-year water technology and operations agreement with Walt Disney World® Resort. While Disney already has an existing agreement with Siemens AG to use a wide range of Siemens technologies, this agreement further expands the relationship and paves the way for the two companies to broaden their technological collaboration across platforms.
Siemens Water Technologies will now provide disinfection and onsite service to resort pools, fountains and theme parks in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The sanitizing technology, monitoring, and onsite service will ensure the continued pool and fountain water quality at 165 recreation sites on the Walt Disney World property are maintained at a safe and clean level.
The agreement, which was signed in January, incorporates more than 50 OSEC electro-chlorination systems. This Siemens technology uses salt and electricity to generate hypochlorite on site by eliminating the need to handle or transport chemicals such as chlorine--increasing safety and efficiency of the operations.
The Strantrol Impact controllers and automation units for the disinfection process allows Siemens to remotely monitor the recreation areas to ensure high quality water at all times. Siemens technicians will service and manage the water on the Walt Disney World property, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Recreation water from these systems will be used at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels and at the Epcot®, Magic Kingdom® and Disney's Hollywood Studios® theme parks.
