AUSTIN, TX, Jan. 26, 2010 -- INTEVRAS Technologies, LLC was recently engaged by Novus Exploration to design a system consisting of three (3) EVRAS™ Units in support of Novus' drilling and Frac operations in Tioga County, Pennsylvania.
This EVRAS™ system eliminates, by evaporation, approximately 1,350 barrels per day of frac and produced water. EVRAS™ will utilize waste heat from the existing natural gas compression facilities to safely evaporate produced water at the well sites, minimizing trucking and disposal costs. In some instances, water will also be piped to EVRAS™, further reducing costs. The EVRAS™ evaporation process will recycle water by introducing fresh water into the hydrologic cycle as water vapor. This allows Novus to reduce trucking of brine as well as the quantity of waste water that would otherwise be discharged to rivers or injected into disposal wells. In addition Novus is able to realize additional gas throughput through the cooling of interstage compression on existing facilities with no increase in break horsepower. Tony Beilman, managing partner for Novus, commented "We have looked at numerous disposal systems. EVRAS™ was the only one that is environmentally friendly, drastically reduces costs, and virtually eliminates truck traffic."
