NGWA releases free webinars for water well owners

WESTERVILLE, Ohio — The two free webinars will cover water well construction and water testing in proximity to hydraulic fracturing.

WESTERVILLE, Ohio — Registration is open for two free webinars on water well construction and water testing in proximity to hydraulic fracturing being offered by the National Ground Water Association (NGWA), according to a press release.

Persons can register for the webinars, which are supported by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, via NGWA’s website, www.WellOwner.org, noted the release.

In the “Water Well Construction: What Do I Need to Know?” webinar taking place May 28 at 1 p.m. ET, participants will learn some basics about water well construction and practical steps to take in having a water well system installed, the release reported, with presenter Jeffrey W. Williams, MGWC, CVCLD, vice president of Spafford & Sons Water Wells in Vermont.

The “Testing Your Well Water in Proximity to Hydraulic Fracturing” webinar, June 11 at 1 p.m. ET, continued the release, will provide participants with guidelines for conducting baseline testing of their well water before hydraulic fracturing activity and post-hydraulic fracturing water testing.

According to the release, the webinar will also explain the hydraulic fracturing process, some of the chemicals used and how some states are approaching it with presenter Dr. Robert Puls, director of the Oklahoma Water Survey and former technical lead of EPA’s Study of Hydraulic Fracturing for Oil and Gas and Its Potential Impact on Drinking Water Resources.
