KADIMA, ISRAEL, Dec. 12, 2013 -- Reliance Industries Ltd., India's largest private sector company, has ordered its first seawater reverse osmosis (SWRO) solution from IDE Technologies, a global provider of water treatment solutions.
Reliance chose IDE's SWRO desalination solution to meet the increased water capacity needs of the plant at one of India's largest oil refineries. Further, the new SWRO plant will yield pure processed water and will reside close to the sea, decreasing the length of pipes and thereby reducing costs related to pumping.
