Siemens moving forward to sell water technologies division

WEST YORKSHIRE, UK — The European engineering company may sell their water division to AEA Investors.

WEST YORKSHIRE, UK — European engineering company Siemens AG is currently in talks to sell its water-technologies unit, which includes wastewater, municipal and industrial water purification services and membrane filtration systems, to AEA Investors, according to an article from Bloomberg Businessweek.

Siemens put the water technologies sector of their company up for sale in 2012, the article noted, to focus on higher-margin businesses.

According to the article, AEA Investors is a private-equity firm that invests in industry.

Seimens has also sold is stakes in Nokia Siemens Networks and its solar-thermal power assets this year, the article reported.
