The Port Qasim Authority in Karachi, Pakistan has awarded Aeromix Systems a USD$775 million contract to develop a 97 million gallon per day desalination facility.

The project involves the design, build, operation and financing of a desalination plant, which will serve the fresh water needs of approximately 500 industrial buildings in the Textile City industrial park.

The financing of the facility will allow the Pakistani Authorities to pay Aeromix, a subsidiary of global water solutions provider RWL Water Group, for the treatment plants through the purchase of the treatment water over time.

Aeromix has also signed a similar agreement with the Karachi Water and Sewage Board for up to 12.5 million imperial gallons per day.

These facilities are a significant part of efforts by the Pakistani government to continue growing their economy by providing key infrastructures to local businesses.
