SAN FRANCISCO — Earth Friendly Products and the Ashkin Group were among 21 winners of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) first Safer Choice Partner of the Year awards, according to a press release.
The awards recognize organizations “for outstanding achievement in the design, manufacture, promotion and use of environmentally friendly products in the nation’s homes, schools and businesses,” noted the release. Earth Friendly Products and the Ashkin Group were recognized for using safer chemical ingredients.
“We are pleased to recognize these companies for their efforts to promote products that are safer to use, without sacrificing quality and performance,” said Jared Blumenfeld, EPA’s regional administrator for the Pacific Southwest, in the release. “By promoting Safer Choice products, these companies are leading the way to a greener future.”
Earth Friendly Products has more Safer Choice products than any other manufacturing awardee, shared the release. It makes green household and commercial cleaning products, while the Ashkin Group is a consulting firm that works to promote green initiatives within the cleaning industry.
The 21 winners were spread across 15 states, reported the release. More than 500 formulator-manufacturers participate in the Safer Choice Program. Included products must meet strict human and environmental health criteria.
