DALLAS, TX, Sept. 20, 2007 -- Building on its leadership in the pressure pipe industry, Hanson Pipe & Precast is proud to announce that it, along with representatives from the newly acquired companies Price Brothers Company and Hyprescon Inc., will be at the Water Environment Federation's Annual Technical Exhibition and Conference(WEFTEC), Booth 3914, Oct. 15-17.

"Our newly expanded Hanson team is excited to attend this year's WEFTEC presenting our extensive pressure pipe capabilities and international market coverage. This increased production volume allows us to better serve our customers and make concrete and steel pressure pipe products more widely available," said Clifford Hahne, Hanson's South Central region president.

Price Brothers, a Dayton, Ohio-based manufacturer of concrete pressure pipe was founded in 1899. Hyprescon began producing large and small diameter concrete pressure pipe as well as Hy-Span® bridge girders, gravity pipe and precast product in 1931, becoming the largest producer of concrete pressure pipe in Canada.

"Being able to build on the experience of Price Brothers and Hyprescon Inc. is invaluable, and we are very fortunate to have them join the Hanson family," added Richard Manning, president and chief executive officer of Hanson Building Products North America.

Concrete pressure pipe is used in a variety of applications: power plant cooling systems, industrial complexes, raw water intake, plant piping, treated water delivery, subaqueous and elevated pipes, outfalls, cooling water and gravity sewers. Steel pressure pipe can be used for similar purposes and offers strength, economy and flexibility.

Hanson also produces other concrete products that can be used for power plant and industrial facility applications. Precast vaults, ideal for water, wastewater and electrical uses, can be outfitted with protective linings and coatings as well as custom openings and custom tops. Precast utility boxes can be built to unique purchaser specifications for use in water, wastewater, electrical, telephone and fiber optic applications.

The Price Brothers acquisition expanded Hanson's product line and capacity in Bakewell, Tenn.; Hattiesburg, Miss.; Palatka, Fla.; South Beloit, Ill.; and Weybridge, England. The Hyprescon Inc. purchase extended Hanson's presence in the Canadian market.

Hanson Pipe & Precast is a manufacturer of concrete pipe; precast concrete products including manholes, drainage structures, box culverts, bridge components, retaining walls and concrete block; and steel and concrete pressure pipe.
