ChemTreat expands role in Ohio’s growing data center Infrastructure
Industrial and utility water treatment firm ChemTreat was selected by chemical producer Dow for the latter’s preferred service provider in the Ohio portion of its Coolant Care Network.
Water coolants are increasingly a key component of next-gen data centers including AI factories. ChemTreat, which is a Veralto company, services more than 200 data center sites, according to the release.
Ohio already is home to numerous data centers, but the state’s digital infrastructure footprint is growing through various commercial and industrial new builds.
"Operators and construction teams need coolant support in place before the system comes online, not sourced after the fact," said Chuck Carn, Dow Data Center Growth Platform Director. "Expanding ChemTreat's role in the Dow Coolant Care Network puts a qualified service provider on the ground in Ohio, backed by Dow fluids, vetted test labs and Dow's technical specialists."
ChemTreat was selected last year to supply water treatment services for the U.S. Department of Energy supercomputing national lab.
ChemTreat parent company Veralto's June 2026 sustainability report credits its companies with helping customers save 88 billion gallons of water, including nearly 110 million gallons in data center sector.
Through the Dow Coolant Care Network, ChemTreat customers in Ohio gain access to DOWFROST™ LC and DOWFROST™ HD Heat Transfer Fluids for direct-to-chip and facility loops, Dow's glycol development specialists, and certified testing for coolant performance.

Earlier this summer, ChemTreat released a white paper, “The Framework for Operational Readiness in Data Center Cooling Systems.” The document focused on best practices and methodologies around pre-construction readiness assessments, water readiness standards and hydronic cleaning specifications.
A large or hyperscale data center can consume more than 1 million gallons of water per day in liquid cooling and processing racks which are growing in density. Medium-sized data centers can use more than 300,000 gallons daily, according to reports.
The U.S. has nearly 4,300 data centers nationwide, close to 40% of the worldwide capacity, according to a University of Georgia Field Report.
