GE has acquired Netherlands-based membrane manufacturer IMT Solutions for an undisclosed sum.

IMT’s products, including its SevenBore ultrafiltration (UF) membranes, are suitable for upstream offshore oil and gas operations.

The move will see GE strengthen its existing UF membrane technology, expanding and complementing its existing ZeeWeed advanced ultrafiltration hollow-fiber membrane portfolio.

Heiner Markhoff, president and CEO, water and process technologies for GE Power & Water, said: “The acquisition of IMT Solutions and its polyethersulphone membranes will complement our current offerings and offers terrific opportunities for further growth.”
